After looking through the hundreds of options available for photographers we had finally hired David. Researching through his pictures, they were exactly what I wanted for our wedding photos. Intimate, romantic and candid moments showing mine and my husbands love for each other. (I also didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg and no one could compete with his prices for the quality work he had). After meeting with David for the first time I could truly tell that he had a passion for this. How he talks about past clients and his love for photography really came from the heart. I was SOLD! We did our engagement shoot and we had chosen an outdoor spot and thanks to Vancouver weather, we re-scheduled a handful of times. Some of which were literally an hour before our scheduled shoot. David did not mind at all! All he cared about was that we had a great experience and most importantly great pictures. We finally had our shoot and me being very timid and my husband being very awkward (David don’t tell Jordan I said that haha), David was able to direct us so well yet letting us be very comfortable with him that we were able to express ourselves in our pictures so it didn’t look forced. P.S. Loove our engagement pictures! Now come to the wedding we just had on August 29th, (yes, the day where mother nature decided to turn the cities upside down with a rain/wind storm and power outages), not only did David take great pictures, he helped make our day that much more special despite all that was happening. He showed up that morning at the hotel where the girls were getting ready and we weren’t quit ready to start shooting our “getting ready pictures” but right away, being all professional, David started to scout out the rooms, balcony and started to set up our dresses all in a line to take pictures (which I thought was impossible but he found a way)! He did not waste any time! He knew we were on a tight schedule and he helped us stay on track. (Our make up girl was saying how she wished she had someone like that at her wedding cause David knew which type of pictures to take and what posses). With all the chaos during the day and now with our limited time with the rain going on and off (to hard with the umbrellas cause of the wind), we knew that as soon as the rain would stop we only had a few minutes to takes some pictures before it would come down again. When it was time, David would direct the whole bridal party so well that we were able to get amazing shots! Fast forward to our reception venue (by the way had no power), David had made our first dance so special and unforgettable. Even though we had candles every where, when we were announced to do our first dance, David had gotten our DJ/MC to announce for everyone to get their cell phone out, turn on the flash light and come close to the dance floor and surround us with their lights so that he could capture this beautiful moment, (complete surprise to us), and with that he did. Not only did we have a photographer at our wedding, we had someone who was helping with the wedding itinerary and moving things a long, someone with great humor and personality as well we were able to gain a friend. Hands down David produces great quality work and his heart and soul is truly in this. He takes pride in what he does and does what ever it takes to go above and beyond!

During the wedding planning process I remember telling my (then) fiancé that photography was VERY important to me and I wanted to be very particular about who we hired for the wedding. Coming from the acting industry, I knew how important it was to hire people who are not just talented but media artists who are passionate about the project.
My (now) husband and I were completely blown away by the flexibility, professionalism, generosity and talent of Pear Tree Photography. From the start it has been evident that David & Irene truly care about the couple they are shooting and were willing to go above and beyond to make our vision come true. In the initial stages of planning, we had our venue fall through but David & Irene were so patient with us as we sorted out a new location. Additionally, they had no problem helping us with our wedding timeline, using their experience to give us feedback which would help the day go smoothly and without needing to pay more than necessary. During our meetings, David showed his genuine care for us by taking personal interest in learning about who we were and what we did outside of the wedding. By the time the wedding came around, I felt like I was shooting with a friend rather than someone I had hired.
On the wedding day, David came an hour early to scope out the venue and assess the best locations for photos; meanwhile the other half of his team had to be extremely flexible as we did not have a confirmed location for our groom & groomsmen get ready until 12p that day – this was no problem for them. Throughout the day, David’s top priority was making sure the bride was comfortable while capturing the best photos.
Of course, the meat of the review is the photos we received! David was so passionate and thrilled about our wedding that he returned over 100 sneak peek photos the following day with more to be expected in the coming weeks. The photos are simply incredible capturing joy, love, intimacy, style and fun. It has been a pleasure and a gift to receive their care, attention and service.

We are from out of province and when we were looking for our potential photographers and videographers it was important for us to have that connection right from the get go. We got married this past weekend at the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola where the view was incredible, the weather was perfect, and the night was magical. I remember when my wife and I first got our notification from the Canadian government about our Citizenship we were just so excited and thrilled that we wanted to make sure that we were able to turn this “once in a lifetime experience” into a memorable one! And during that time, I remember even immediately checking on a longtime friend and photographer of ours who had done photography work for our family before to see if she would be available to cover the event for us. We meticulously searched for the ideal photographer for our wedding, focusing not only on quality of photos, but also someone we felt we could trust and connect with. After coming across David’s pictures on his website Pear Tree Photography, we instantly fell in love with his photos, and decided we wanted to meet with him before committing to selecting him as our photographer.
We instantly felt a connection with him during our first meeting and after signing the contract both my wife and I remember feeling extremely content with our selection. David continued to keep in close contact with us, making sure that we knew he was always available to answer questions or provide a second opinion. Finally, several months later, it was time for us to have our engagement photo shoot with David. After rescheduling a couple times due to rain, we finally were able to find a day where there were clouds with some sun. From the beginning of the shoot, David went straight to work and used his “photographer’s eye” to take incredible photos. Even though there was not much sunlight on that day, our engagement photos turned out to be very beautiful. As an additional note, during the photo shoot, David was very accommodating and waited until nighttime so that he was able capture a few night time scenery shots.
We were amazed with the quality of both our engagement and wedding photos and received countless compliments from friends, family and co-workers. Absolutely raving review for David, Irene and the whole team at Peartree Photography. I found Peartree photography through the preferred vendors for the Sea to Sky Gondola. My partner and I wanted a company that knew the venue well to photograph our wedding. From the beginning of our interactions communication with Irene was very quick. We had a consultation closer to the event where we met David virtually. He is so kind and answered all our questions such that we felt very confident and comfortable as the day approached.
The day of the wedding David arrived early to the gondola and easily guided us to our first look location. We don’t consider ourselves very photogenic people, but David was very reassuring and had great prompts for posing and the like. During the ceremony he knew of all the good shooting areas for the spirit trail lookout, we did not notice him once during the ceremony however the shots he got are phenomenal. Lastly, I want to mention how grateful we are for David’s kindness and patience during our wedding!

If there is something I can say to describe David, it would be that he is gently accommodating. We really had a positive experience with him. What I took away from the session was not necessarily the excitement of how everything would turn out but how gentle and kind David was towards my wife and I. He helped us above and beyond. Just speaking of his personality David was the perfect person to have had as a photographer on the day of our shoot and I am most grateful for his life. We had a gender reveal photo and video session with David. We decided to go with David because his prices were the most reasonable compared to so many people. He was able to suggest a really nice like location which we loved and agreed to after my wife and I went to scope it out. He contacted us to discuss what we wanted to do in details closer to the date. He also discussed with us how he would go about doing it. He was very accommodating to our ideas and very clear about what the outcome maybe with every idea. During the photo session he was able to guide us through various posses and helped us to make sure we looked our best for the photos.
We received our photos before Christmas which was great and our video before the New Years. This was our timeline and despite the fact that he had two weeks before Christmas he worked quickly to give us lots of professionally edited photos. My wife and I were not as prepared as we thought we were for the session but in the end David was able to capture the heart of the video beautifully.

David and Sasha photographed our wedding and they were awesome to work with! We opted to not get engagement photos before the wedding so I was a bit nervous about how things would go on the wedding day. David and Sasha were very relaxed and fun to work with. I am an extremely awkward person but David and Sasha made me feel at ease right away. They were also very good at blending into the crowd and at least from our perspective they didn’t disrupt the wedding trying to get shots. We just got some sample images and they are lovely! Initially we were also thinking of only asking for one photographer on the day to save some money. David convinced us to go with two photographers and I’m glad we did. I came across Pear Tree Photography when I was researching to book a family photoshoot to commemorate my parents’ 40th anniversary. The online portfolio was impressive and when I got in touch with David, he was prompt and professional in his reply.
We had a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable 2-hr session that morning. David was really wonderful in making us all feel at ease. Our group had 8 people, including an unpredictable 3-year-old. We were able to get all of the photos we hoped for and with all combinations of people. David had a small selection of photos ready for us that same afternoon so we could share them with other relatives at the anniversary celebration. Very impressive! From start to finish, David was amazing. We were initially not comfortable in front of the camera but David took the time to walk us through the process during our engagement photo session. The transition to our wedding almost a year later was seamless as he did a fantastic job of making us comfortable in front of the camera. David was always available to talk or meet in person to answer any questions and was a great support in helping us plan our wedding schedule. He also recommended other vendors which was a huge help! My husband and I, as well as our families, loved the photos. David captured incredible moments of our special day for which we will always be grateful. David was a pleasure to work with on our engagement and wedding photography sessions. He’s easy-going but professional, responsive to questions and comments without being too directive, and most importantly, he’s trustworthy. We trust his judgement in the when, where and how of each photo, and we trust that he will deliver quality work as set out in the contract. My husband and I are not photogenic and do not enjoy being photographed, but David made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and gave us some beautiful shots. The best decision I ever made during the trip in Vancouver. I never knew or planned for this but I am glad that I made a right choice. David knows the city and is very professional. This is very unique tour that you must to have when you are in Vancouver. You will be left with different side of old town (you can customize the location I think..), history, best local spots, fun photo shootings by a world class professional, and more! I definitely recommend this without any hesitation.
It was a such a pleasure working with David. He is extremely professional and knows exactly what he is doing. I am camera shy person but he knows how to bring the best side of me out. The experience was absolutely amazing!

DThere are not enough words for us to say how happy we were with the level of service we received from the team at Pear Tree Photography. When we first met with David, he took the time to get to know who we were as a couple and our story to ensure that the service was personalized to our liking. We had also booked an engagement session which was a “photo posing class” as practice for our wedding day. There, we were taught how to pose, hold each other, and even kiss in the best ways for our photos! My husband and I are extremely awkward people (on camera and off camera) and our anxieties were put to ease right away. We were able to get clear directions from David and he was always patient with us to walk us through the different poses during our engagement shoot.
On the wedding day, we were greeted by David, Sasha, Katie, and Christie. We had only met Sasha, Katie, and Christie on our wedding day, but all four of them made us feel like we have all known each other for a long time! They were all so excited and happy for us in our little (and big) moments during our special day. Many of our friends and family raved about how professional and great they were throughout the night. We already had a couple of people in our wedding ask for their contact info for their events! When we got our final products back, we really felt that we were transported back to our wedding day. Being able to experience our wedding day again after looking at all of our photos and video made us feel so emotional.

David and his team are very professional yet fun to work with at the same time. I feel like our relationship with David, the main photographer, developed into a friendship as we went along. We shared a lot of great moments on our wedding day and during our engagement photos. David is very prompt with his communication and very flexible. To say we were blown away and amazed with Pear Tree Photography’s service is an understatement. We had David, Sasha, Nicky, and Christie as part of our wedding in July 2022 and all of them were an absolute pleasure to work with. David was extremely patient and informative with all our questions throughout the process, flexible and accommodating to our requests, provided amazing wedding planning/timeline advice, and made us feel very comfortable. David was always very open to our ideas, and shared anticipated outcomes for what we wanted. He was very personable and made an effort to get to know us and our love story as a couple -he did this genuinely and with real interest which is rare. The engagement shoot was super fun and he provided lots of direction and guidance on how to stand/pose while still capturing our candid moments beautifully and to our vision. On the wedding day, the four of them were quick at scouting locations, efficient with capturing every aspect of the wedding, and it was clear they were very professional and knew exactly what needed to happen. We had a helicopter tour with only one extra seat, and Nicky was able to do both video and photo footage together which was really valuable. Most of all, we received a lot of positive feedback about Pear Tree team from both our parents, our entire wedding party, and many of our guests pointed out they were super friendly and fun to be around. The sneak peeks they shared with us were absolutely stunning and we have no doubt the rest of the products will exceed our expectations too. We feel David and the Pear Tree team went above and beyond to make us feel special and we are so grateful to have them as part of our day. People skills and flexibility makes a HUGE difference.
I work with a lot photographers as part of my job… Pear Tree Photography is one of my top 2 favorites to have worked with. Their skills is unquestionable, as you can see from their portfolio (low-light, action, romance etc etc etc). And totally on the ball during the planning phases. I don’t think they missed a shot for our wedding. They were easy-going, accommodating, and have a good sense of humor. They know exactly how to address emotional guests.
